Mardin is preferred by filmmakers to shoot films and series

Mardin where has a rich cultural heritage has been a place of choice for films and many Tv series producers for many years thanks to historical, cultural and natural richness. It has social values and has reached daily from past years. The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of local people to Tv series, the effects of economic ,cultural and environmental. All of them provide contributions to tourism. Survey technique was chosen to gather data in this study. The data was collected from 401 person by face to face interview. The obtained datas were analyzed by frequency analysis and Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests. According to research findings, local people think that mardin Tv series and films provide contributes to the economy and promotion  of the city. However, it has been observed that they have negative perceptions due to  misunderstanding of cultures, exaggerated lifestyles, and the attempt to obtain economic rents.

Ay Lav Yu, Hercai, Sıla, The Spell are some samples of Tv series. The filmmakers usually choose Midyat. Many films and Tv series are shot in there. Hercai menson, Sıla menson are places preferred.
